About American Flls Lions

Who We Are

The American Falls Lions Club is a local service organization dedicated to improving our community through meaningful service, strong leadership, and a shared commitment to helping others. Our Club was chartered on February 15,1952, through Lions Clubs International, the world's largest service organization. Our members believe that when caring people join together, they can make a lasting difference.

Locally, we focus our efforts in meeting community needs through hands-on service projects, youth support, and fundraising activities that strengthen American Falls. Whether supporting students, improving public spaces, or responding to local needs, Lions are driven by a simple mission: To serve our community with integrity, generosity, and purpose.

Your Fireworks Stand purchase has enabled us to be one step closer in meeting our goal of providing $2,500 in annual support to the Power County Youth Center in 2027. They offer an After-School Program during the school year that provides the local youth with structured activities, nourishment, and a safe place to go.

The American Falls Lions Club has committed $10,000 in support to the Power County Youth Center over a four year period that started in 2025. The first and second annual installments of $2,500 per year have been distributed, marking the start of our ongoing community service efforts to enhance this essential resource for local youth.

Community Meals & Partnerships

The Lions Club in American Falls has partnered with The Daily Bread program and St. John's Lutheran Church to host community meals that fosters fellowship and addresses local needs.

In April 2026, the Lions Club sponsored the  Daily Bread Dinner where they prepared and served 103 meals to individuals from the American Falls community.

We also collaborate with other local churches, businesses, and humanitarian organizations to provide a Fourth of July breakfast for the community, strengthening bonds and celebrating together through our community service efforts.

Beyond our youth initiatives, the Lions Club in American Falls remains dedicated to supporting senior citizens and community service organizations. This includes a $1,000 donation to the Power County Senior Center to help maintain their food service program, as well as ongoing contributions to groups serving both young people and the elderly in our community.

Youth Scholarships

This past year, the American Falls Lions Club proudly awarded $1,000 scholarships to four graduating seniors, two young men and two young women, to help support their educational goals. The increased number of scholarships, made possible by the success of our annual Golf Tournament, demonstrates our growing commitment to community service and youth development.

Annual Fundraisers

Our annual fundraisers enable our community service initiatives in American Falls. These fundraisers include the Lions Club Golf Tournament held on the third Saturday of May, the 4th of July Fireworks Stand, and the Lions Club Community Birthday Calendar Sale.

Vision & Hearing Assistance

Each year, the Lions Club hosts sight, hearing, and health screenings for individuals from our local communities, including American Falls, at the Eastern Idaho State Fair. Throughout the year, we also collect eyeglasses which are donated to Lions Envision Sight for individuals with vision impairments. Referrals for the Vision Clinic and Hearing Aid assistance are accepted through Envision's Idaho Lions Vision Clinic based on eligibility. Supporting vision & hearing health through our community service initiatives is an important goal that we strive to meet.

Give the Gift of Sight and Hearing

Support the American Falls Lions Club by donating your unused prescription eyeglasses, reading glasses, eyeglass frames and/or lens, along with hearing aids (working or not). Your generous donation provides the gift of sight or hearing to those in need both locally and worldwide.

Items can be dropped off at the American Falls Vision Center, American Falls Senior Center, Pocatello Free Clinic at the American Falls School District Office, or the Rockland Pharmacy.

You can also help us expand this important community program by including your business as one of our drop-off locations  -  Contact us to get involved. Your donation can change a life!

Community Beautification & Infrastructure

The Lions Club works closely with the City of American Falls to repair and upgrade shelters in the local parks. As part of our community service efforts, we conduct annual cleanups of the bypass, maintaining the beauty of the natural areas surrounding American Falls. Additionally, we are actively involved in refurbishing the Welcome Sign at the city limits in partnership with others, ensuring a positive first impression for both visitors and residents alike.

We provide mentorship, guidance, financial support, and practical assistance to help students successfully achieve their desired goals.
